My dripper is making a flood...

So I have a lil dripper. It drips into a live plant I have in the cage but regardless, it overflows and the whole bottom of the cage is covered with water. Then the crickets drown in it and it smells. I clean it, and it does it again.

I choose not to use any mulchy substrate because I used to and all the crickets would hide in it and eventually die. At the moment, I have no substrate but I did try to keep a clean towel under the plants pot but now its not working. How does repti carpet handle this and does anyone have any suggestions?

Or you can have it drip into a catch container that has screen over it. That's what I did before I drilled holes for drainage.

If you have been using towels to catch the water you probly have a nice case of mold growing. Your cage needs to dry out between mistings. I drilled a few holes in the bottom of my cage, then I got two cinder blocks and spaced them out on my table so there was room in between (for the drip pan). Then I put the cage on top of the cinderblocks.

I change the towel fairly regularly so that doesnt happen but thank you. Those are all good ideas.
