My Dragon flipped me off!

I'm used to getting the "stinkeye" from this fellow. In fact, one of his nicknames is "Old Stinkeye" (even though he's only 8 months old). He's been rather irascible since I got him—that's just his personality, and I'm OK with that—all the gaping, hissing, biting... but today I feel he's reached a new level of contempt ... :cautious:

You never know with these guys. Some are absolute sweeties from the git-go. This guy wouldn't let me come near him until about a month ago—then all of a sudden, he's Mr. Chill. He still hisses when I reach in for him, but he's stopped snapping, and settles down immediately for TV time. Falls asleep on me every time, and by then it's like rigor has set in....

This week he's not even hissing. I took him out for about an hour this afternoon, and we sat there—noses about 9" apart—making faces at each other. He kept sticking his tongue out at me. It looked like self-regulation, but I've never seen him do that at room temperature.

This evening I took him out around "lights out" (8pm) and we settled into my recliner to catch that Brad Pitt space movie, Ed Asner, on HBO. What a snooze fest! I nodded off for about an hour, and when I awoke with a start thinking, "Oh crap, where's the lizard?" he was still sound asleep on my stomach. He didn't move for the whole 2 hours.

I guess I’ve been really fortunate to have a sweet beardie. Only once did I see him all spiky and flattened and hissing and I’ve no idea what spooked him. Wish I could take & keep mine out like that. My cats and dog pretty much are wherever I am, so too dangerous.

LOL! No cats here (allergic) and my dog's a pussycat. He won't even hunt bugs.
Dog & dragon know about each other, but they've never met nose-to-nose. I'm not worried about the dog harming the dragon (something I couldn't say about every dog we've ever had)—more like concerned if the dragon spooked, he might run & hide someplace I couldn't find or retrieve him.

OTOH, I know of a woman whose dogs are terrified of—and dominated by—her dragon.
