My Dolphin Videos

This afternoon my girlfriend and I went on a whale watching trip where we only saw two. First we saw a Minke whale cruising around looking for food and then a Fin whale off in the distance. It wasn't that eventful for whales but what was really special was finding what the crew and Museum of Natural History guides were calling a megapod of Common Dolphins, Delphinus delphis. They said they only see one or two megapods each season and we were lucky enough to sail right through this one. Most of the crew was estimating there were about 600 dolphins in this pod! These videos looked a lot better before Youtube compressed them but we hope you like them anyway!

Thanks. It was quite awe inspiring. I expected to see pods of maybe half a dozen, nothing like that. They head right for your boat and swim alongside you, many doing back and high jumps. There was even a bunch of little babies and juvies mixed in. Very, very neat. :)

omg You lucky guy...

That looks so beautiful, and like Syn said, it probably is a once in a lifetime chance...

You are very lucky..
