My Crayola Chameleon- Genmaicha Through the Years

Hi. It's been a while. I have one old man panther left, my favorite dude, Genmaicha. He is over five now for sure. He lives in my backyard during the summer and begs food from guests every chance he gets. He is easy going and puppy-like at times. He also has had an amazing array of colors over the years.

Here is a picture timeline of Genmaicha in the time that I have had him. Sadly, I think he is going to pass on sometime within the next year. He has gotten thinner, doesn't want to eat as much, and seems almost arthritic. He is my sweet old man and will be loved and super spoiled til the end. On with the photos!

It's really nice to see you back on here! Genmaicha is still looking good. My little man Luie is getting old and showing his age too.

Jann, I've considered adding a very small amount of liquid glucosamine/chondroitin to his feeders' gutload mix. I haven't been keeping up on the hobby and what people are up to, but has anyone tried joint support with their reptiles that you know of? I'm going to do some digging and find out for sure but I don't see how it could hurt him. I'm going to ask my vet friends but unfortunately they are mostly just cat and dog vets and consequentially clueless about herps. (Hence they come to me- the blind leading the blind!)

I'm glad to hear that Luie is still charming his way around your home. He is what made me think twice about veileds.

My vets recommends Metacam for joint pain if you can get a vet to get that for you it should help. Thank you for you kind words about Luie. He is sweeter than ever.
