My Chameleon is afraid of it's food

So he eats the silkworms I just bought but I introduced dubias for the first time today and he got really bright neon looking, puffed up, hissed, and ran to the other side of the cage when he saw the roach. I did that this morning and when I left for work today, I left three roaches in a feeder to cup to see if he'd warm up to them but when I got home all three were still in the cup.

I've been working on my dubia colony for months now, is there anyway he might eat them or do I have to get rid of the roaches and stick to silks? He gave up eating crickets about a month ago btw.

I have a 9 month old (roughly) male Veiled. He's not afraid of anything else that I know of, I hand feed him regularly and I have two dogs that he tolerates just fine and he tolerates me as well.

I would wait to reintroduce them when your cham is super hungry! (Dont starve him) when your cham is hungry you can introduce small dubias and if you want even slow them down by putting them in the fridge for a few seconds!
