My cham is suddenly hiding from me, not eating as much, wandering to bottom of cage?

So I've had my male veiled Cham for about a month now. He is about a year old.

When I first got him he was very friendly. I would hold a cricket out for him and he would run to my hand and crawl up. I would bring him outside in the sun for a bit. For two weeks he would do this.

Now suddenly every time I go towards the cage he tries to hide behind leaves and scurries to the bottom of his cage. If I hold a cricket out for him he doesn't even try to grab it from a distance.

Even if I put some crickets inside his terrarium it takes him some time before he actually eats them, where previously he would run for them right away.

Is this something to worry about?
This all seemed to happen when I bought mealworms to feed him. I don't know if that would have anything to do with it, but yeah.

A couple of ideas:

He's concerned about some change in his visual world...either he does not feel secure in his territory (has anything changed in the cage or the room?).

He's reacting to some change in YOU...hair, colors you are wearing, etc.

It has nothing to do with the mealworms...they are not a great staple feeder BTW.
