My question is should I put water sealant on the base as well as the actually cage frame

hmmm... YES! lol its worth the time the moister around the cage from the mister will slowly cause decomposition if you dont. what are your planned dimensions for your cage? :)

the base is 6'x2' going to divide the middle to make it 2x3x4

Make sure you put some kind of non-seethrough divider to separate the cages because it can stress the chameleons out if they are in visual contact with another chameleon so close to their own cage.

Are these indoor or outdoor enclosures?Your going to have bugs everywhere if you go hardware cloth on the sides unless you cup feed;) I would go black aluminium screen all round & hrdwr cloth on top to reduce UV blockage You can put packaging tape around the top edges of the cloth top to keep bugs from escaping. Flying bugs may still be able to get away! You can see my new cage by searhing my threads;)

I love your cage! And if I had the means to do something like it I would. All I have to work with is a hand saw and a screw driver =( but I am determined to get this done!

Also I was planning on cup feeding since both Ringo and Angel will cup feed. Since I live on a military base I'm not allowed to have reptiles so both my chams will have to stay in the house til we move in Jan 2013

Update pics

Well got all the pieces sealed with waterproof sealant, waiting to be put together. I'll put a second coat on tomorrow to the top half.My son was trying to be helpful too!
