My beloved Sniper has passed... :(

Yesterday I woke up to find one thing that all of us hate to find the most. When I went into my cham room I found my Nosy Faly Sniper on the bottom of his cage dead. The worst part is that I have absolutely NO clue what happened he looked PERFECT the night before... All my other chams are doing great and Sniper ate from the same food sources that all the rest eat from. Do any of you have any experience with chameleons mysteriously dying over night for no apparent reason? I'm totally bummbed about loosing him... He was an amazing cham with a great personality. Luckily we succsessfully mated him and got a ton of what appears to be viable eggs and she may lay more from that mating soon.

Really gonna miss you Sniper.

I had a similar thing happen with my dear Kukui - he was fine three hours previous and then, I come home and he was gone. When they are ready to go, they don't let us know and they do it with as much dignity as they can muster. he was truly a beautiful chameleon and I hope you rest easy, knowing that his bloodlines are not only continuing, but that he is also resting in peace. So sorry for your loss.

As long as some on here have kept chams you would think someone would know why we can lose one so very fast. But I don't think we have a clue. It is so hard to lose them. Sniper was such a stunning cham, RIP .

Sorry for your loss. I have seen it all too often on here chameleons dying in this way. I wish someone could figure out why.

Sorry to hear, what a tough loss.
Do you plan on having a necropsy done?
Good luck on the incubating eggs.

I am so sorry to hear about Sniper. I know the pain you must be feeling. I just lost my Padre. Sniper was very handsome and I'm sure he will live on in your heart.
