Is Rep-Cal Herptivite with Beta Carotene a good multivitamin to use? I didn't see D3 listed so I wanted to make sure this was ok to use.

Thanks

That is what I have used for the past three years. The thing is it contains beta carotene and there has been much debate whether chameleons can convert beta carotene into vitamin A. A lot of people just use multivitamins with vitamin A for that reason. I gutload my crickets with kale and apples and things that contain vitamin A just to be safe. I have never had one eye issue so far. Not saying this is right or wrong but just what has worked for me.

Yes, RepCal Herptivite is a good vitamin product.
Carol correctly points out it doesn't contain Vitamin A, which is why some people like it /prefer it.
Fruits and vegetables also only contain beta carotene, not actual vitamin A. So if you want to provide vitamin A you have to do that separately.

are your chameleons getting vitamin D in another way? Many users of Herptivite also use a calcium/mineral supplement that contains vitamin.

I use Rep-Cal with NO Vitamin D3 every feeding, Tetrafauna ReptoCal with Vitamin D3 used on the 5th and 20th of every month. ( The Tetrafauna came with the Jacksons Chameleon that I rescued that passed before I could get her to the vet). I was planning on using the Rep-Cal Multivitamin on the 15th and last day of every month. If I'm seeing right (the print is super small) theTetrafauna Repto-Cal contains Vitamin A. I am just wanting to make sure that Rebel stays healthy and happy.

Thanks for your help.:D
