mouth opening

so my jackson male has been constantly opening up his mouth and sometimes there is a little bit of spit in there. he isnt gasping for air anything just keeps opening his mouth evry couple of mins

Sounds like it could be a Respiratory infection. If temps are too high, they will open their mouth too, but if your temps are not too high and you are seeing extra saliva then I would get him to a vet asap.

okay thank you. oh and another thing i noticed is he only does it when i have him outside his cage. when hes inside it he acts normal

They do have some slight stringy saliva that is normal but it should not be excessive. Do you hear any kind of noises when he breathes?

nope there is no noises. i tried to listen for gasping or popping but i didnt hear anything. there is just sometimes a small amount of saliva on the sides of his mouth but nothing excessive. its almost like hes mad at me but he doesnt when im not even near him but only outside his cae
