Morning feeding

is it normal for chameleons to be slower to eat in the morning?
I turn on lights, wait about 10 minutes, mist with warm water. About 5 minutes later I try to feed and he's not real interested. But Typically right on it in the afternoon.

Am I rushing things in the morning and he's still kinda cold and sleepy?

They need to be warm to be stimulated to eat. When your chameleon is nice and warm, then he will be more inclined to eat. Cold and sleepy is absolutely correct. Being a reptile, they get slower the colder they get. Your chameleon just wants to warm up first is all. (y)
