I'm already starting to worry about Paul. When he eats, he sometimes catches a mouthful of coconut fiber. Plus, I don't think he's taken a crap since I got him on Sunday-should I be worried? How do I know if he's getting enough to drink, or if he is stressed or not?

Most people don't use substrate. It can cause impaction if the cham ingests too much of it. A bare floor is a lot better for the cham and way easier to clean.

How old is your cham? Have you filled out the Help form?

My apologies, didn't realize it was a pygmy chameleon. Disregard the substrate comment.

I agree. You should be able to find something eles that he cant injest. But that sounds like the problem.

But don't pygmy chameleons need substrate? Is it possible that he's impacted already? What do I do if he is impacted?
