Monthly cage cleaning

Its that time again and I thought I would share my procedures. Might remind someone to do something or you might see I'm missing something. I think this is a very over looked part of Chameleon keeping and my way is not the only way to go about it.

The cleaner and disinfectants I use are as follow.
1) Eco Clean 99% All natural concentrated cleaner
This product they claim can be sprayed around bearded dragons

2) F10SCxd Super concentrated veterinary cleaner

3) Professional Disinfectant (Microbiocidal, Fungicidal, Virucidal & Pseudominacidal)

First off I ALWAYS remove him before spraying ANY chemicals in his cage. Now that he is in a SAFE area to get some sun we can move on.

I remove my RES from my mistking and dump any extra water in the flowers. It looks clean but if you rub your finger on the bottom you can feel its slick. I spray Eco clean mixed with F10SCxd (mixed to recommended strengths) I spray it down in side and out and set aside to soak for 5mins. While that is soaking I put the 1/4 tubbing that goes into the RES and into a bottle of mixed Eco/F10SD and run thru the system for a min and let it sit to soak also. Now I can spray down the cage, plants, branches, vines and anything else spraying to soak very good. After that I go back and rinse everything off with RO water (running thru the mistking and spraying with a bottle) to make sure I rinse it all out.
I use a funnel with fish tank rocks to add weight for drainage (don't worry its covered with screen so he can't get the rocks) this is where I use the Professional disinfectant. I plug the funnel and pour it in to the top and let it soak. After 5 mins I pull the cap and thoroughly rinse the rocks.

I do this all once a month on top of my normal everyday cleaning (cleaning poop, feeders or anything else)

After the entire cage has dried I run RO water one more time and now let him back into his cage. Time to sit back and enjoy him.

I just wanted to say this, doesnt discredit the product you're using or saying its bad but I am a Chemical Specialist and I wanted to just share something I learned in the years of chemicals.
I have seen products say that ECO friendly and Safe blah blah. You really want to break down the contents and see what chemicals and percentages being used are cause I have seen 78% sulfuric acid and they called it Safe Acid. I had to chuckle but I would just look at the chemical being used and examine it.

Again, dont take this as me saying your process is incorrect or unsafe. I am just saying that just cause a labels makes claims doesnt mean its okay.

Otherwise, sounds very thural

I didn't post more info about the products as it would take posting websites that aren't sponsors. All the products are used by vets and animal safe but since you know chemicals I'm going to PM you the website and have you take a look.
