Mold(?) in Huey's cage

I've been out of town for two days and just got back to notice some sort of white powdery fuzz growing on the terracotta pot his plant is in. Hi mitt in the cage stats around 60, water drips into the plant then drains into a container that us emptied daily. I'm assuming this is mold as I don't know what else it would be, but I've never really dealt with mold before, and my knowledge of plants is pretty minimal. I don't want it to make Huey sick, so I've removed the entire plant until I find a solution. Has anyone else experienced this? Or does anyone have suggestions? Wondering if I should just toss the stupid plant altogether as Huey spends the majority of his time on the fake ones anyway.

Thanks for any help!

Sorry for the errors. I'm using my phone and didn't proofread. It should say humidity in his cage stays around 60

Do you have photos of the 'mold' and rest of the enclosure? Live plants help a lot with the humidity, so I wouldn't get rid of it. They also don't absorb the water like the fakes leaves do. What kind of cham is Huey?

Without a pic it's hard to tell, but unglazed unsealed terracotta pots can leach minerals from the potting soil. Over time this can look like a buildup of chalk...or I suppose mold. If the potting soil is wet much of the time it could speed this up, also if you are overfertilizing the plant. You could try using a plastic pot to see if it still happens.

sorry it took me so long to reply, I've been having internet troubles.
I've attached a picture of his cage and one of just the plant since it isn't in his cage at the moment. Oh, and a picture of Huey just for fun.

Not sure if its relevant, put the plant was repotted with organic soil when i bought it. I think I'll go today and get a plastic pot for it. This may all be silly since I know NOTHING about plants, I just didn't want to risk making my panther sick.
