just thought id start a thread about misting systems for chams! anyway, i do have a small problem.... about 4 months ago i got my first panther cham! :) and he is now outgrowing his cage so i have ordered a new custom cage for him from LLLreptile. I have also ordered a mistking system(the starter one) unfortuinatly the product is 'backordered' :( and the misting system i have at the moment is... well... crap! its one of those Zoo-Med 'misting system' i onl have it because it came with the cham's setup... but the 'mist' is not mist at all, in fact the finest setting is actualy like one of those rubbish 50p water pistols its pathetic!! (DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED!!) so i need a solution... the cham needs his cage now and the mister is inusable and the cage will be just too big for a 'good' cover of water around the enclosure from the ZOO-MED one...so what can i do without a mister for about 2 months!!??? (cant spay manually ....simply too busy in the day can only mist/feed/clean in the evenings... and early morning any suggestions??? :(:(:confused:

Depends on the chameleon and where you are located. Some chameleons can be misted heavily once in the morning and once in the afternoon. I have a male Veiled chameleon and a female Panther chameleon, and I am able to mist heavily once in the morning and once in the afternoon without the humidity dropping into the low 40's. I also have a drip system set up that runs the whole day so my babies can drink whenever they want.

Where are you located, and what kind of chameleon?

I agree

You can mist heavy heavy in the morning and when you get home before lights out get the humidity at least at 75 before you quit... Then on days that you have more time mist in moderation 3 times a day, if you are in a dryer less humid place like me (colorado) do it at least 5 times a day on your days off of if you happen to pop in for lunch =]

Simple....mist in the morning and in the evening and have a dripper for during the day. Just make one up very simply for the short term by poking a small hole in a deli cup and placing it on the top of the cage so it slowly drips on to the plant leaves and have a shallow dish to catch the drips.

That will work short term until you get your Mistking. On that note make sure that your evening mist has time to dry out and the cage is not wet/damp when the lights go out.
