Misting - Saturation Question

Those with 2x2x4 sized enclosures do you run with 1 misting head or multiple?

Curious about how much of the tank your trying to mist, do you go for .25, .50, .75 of the cage or what?

I find with just 1 misting head that I get less than .50 the upper area. I would need 2 heads to get the heavy foliage side and still hit a slight mist across the basking spot.

Just curious is all, wondering if I need to T into my mist line and make a small rain dome to drop water on the planted side and then re-angle my mister some to where it just barely hits the basking area.

i run one in both my 2x2x4 and i get about 50% in one and 75% in the other. i think one is fine but two wont hurt. mist king makes a rain thing thats like 15 bucks that works good

I personally don't mist the entire cage. I try to cover about half of the cage so that the chameleon has a place to 'hide' from the mist. Soaking the chameleon and having poor temperatures can cause issues for the chameleon. If the mist is too fine it can cause respiratory issues if the chameleon can't get out of the spray.

I have found that a misting nozzle inside of the cage and a RainDome on top of the cage compliment each other very well. This gets part of the cage nice and wet and the RainDome gives a good simulation of rain to encourage drinking from a stubborn chameleon. Placing the RainDome over a well established plant attracts the chameleon to drink.

Thanks guys! That is the kind of info I was looking for, I wanted to keep the basking spot dry but was curious if just maybe it needed to just barely reach over, to entice him. But makes sense to leave it like it is and look into adding a rain dome also maybe.

I have a dripper setup on this cage also, and maybe the 2 alone will suffice. I have not put any cham's in the cage yet. I have a ambilobe coming from Yankfanthom tomorrow, so hopefully he will like it. I like to have these things setup and monitored cor a cpl days or so before I put livestock into them. Better to make any changes needed before than add possible issues to the cham later.
