milipede invasion

Let me start first by saying all of the plants in our chameleons cages are rocked in to keep them from eating dirt but I have noticed one of my chameleons down at at the pot & I didn't think to much of it at the time until I saw him chewing oon something so I took the plant out & noticed that it had hundreds of milipedes & I did hear that as a defense mechanism in these milipedes is that they sprayed cyanide but I am unsure so my question is does anyone know if consumed milipedes are harmful to chameleons. I have rectified the problem but I don't know how many got through the rocks for him to eat

My panther ate a few that came out of my plants a couple months ago. They were tiny and I didn't have that many. Didn't seem to harm him - but he did like hunting them!

Millipedes secrete poisonous liquid secretions as well as hydrogen cyanide gas through the microscopic pores all over their bodies.

You should get rid of all of them ASAP.

I have loads under my planters outside and had a few in the Hibiscus when I brought it in - it's now back outside, lol! At first I thought 'free food' for Monty but was told the same. It's a shame as there are loads in my garden!
