No he doesn't... He is healthy as a healthy Cham can be. I'm adopting him from a fellow forum member.
hehe heey what's up. Yes, he has definitely been on a good diet with all of the vitamins and d3 given sparingly, as well as light dusting of non-d3 calcium with every feeding. I used high quality gutload(plenty of cricket crack), offered crickets, superworms, hornworms, butterworms, and occasional mealworms. His urates look good and I would recommend getting a drainage system as soon as possible because he would benefit from frequent misting, seeing that he is a shy drinker. Like I said, I never see him drink but he must be drinking because he has been fine since I got him in August.
Since you mentioned health, I have to tell you this RIGHT NOW so there are no surprises when u pick him up!! He recently had one incident getting close to the lamp. As you know, recently my mom will put his cage outside and I have to bring him back in in my constant struggle to keep him indoors. Well it was cold outside one day so I brought his basking spot closer to the lamp. I recently learned about "cold shock" and how when they get cold they will attempt to soak as much heat as possible even without reacting to the excessive heat up top! Anyway...
He got light burns on the edges of his casque as well as the edgy areas on the very top of his head, but his spine looks fine. Two days later he shed in that area, as well as the skin around his eyes, without any sort of problems. So right now those areas are brownish. I just checked up on him sleeping: the majority of his casque is lively green and unaffected except JUST the edges there and the edgy parts on his head(above the eyes). I would just assume these areas won't be green again because I don't know if they will ever go away(could be necrotic and scarred permanently, and probably this is the case)!! Otherwise, he is totally healthy and still looks fine despite this, as you will see.
I doubt it will get worse or prone to infection because it looks quite minor honestly. IF BY ANY CHANCE it seems to get worse, tell me ASAP, but he should be fine if you use the proper bulbs and distances. Like I said, use no more than a 60w bulb and measure the temperature where the top of his casque would be at the basking spot, and definitely put atleast one or two branches a little below the basking branch, so he can choose to thermoregulate on a gradient as he wishes. I wish I could have prevented this but thanks to my Mom I had to try to manage to get him to bask in the cold weather somehow.
He is starting to get bigger, so I would not depend on ficus alone for him to climb on(he broke some of my dry ficus branches because of that lol!). I'd go hunt for some branches! I only have one leaf-covered branch and small fake plant for you (sorry).
My mom is letting me keep my K. Multituberculata because I can keep him outside along with the MistKing(YES!!!).
My brother has not answered the phone still, but I am pretty sure I can get back both of the reptisun 5.0's, housings, as well as two 60w heat lamps and reflective domes for you tomorrow. Just warning you, I have over 50 hornworms for you, so I would dedicated the next couple days to feeding those off to your Geckos and your new Veiled lol.
I got Xerxes from FLchams. Go to the site and look at veiled's for sale. Xerxes is from Newton's bloodline. You got to let me know when he starts showing blues so I can come over and see him!
If you have any other questions before tomorrow night, message me on Facebook.
