Mesh enclosures work great here in the US. They provide proper air flow for the chams. But I would reccomend asking an experienced breeder in the UK or Canada on how they keep their chams. The climate here in the US is different than yours. But I think there should be at least two mesh sides to your cage.
The different meshes can have different effects. The aluminum mesh keeps crickets from eating them, but can cut off your chams toe nails. The fabric mesh is safe for their toes, but crickets eat through them and hot lamps can melt them. There are coated meshes that are made for screen doors so cats and dogs can't scratch them. Those are the safest, but they look ugly.
