What makes you think having a girlfriend will make him less aggressive?

That will probably make it worse. Male veileds turn into really pissy teenagers right around 1 year old. Not to mention that they are a highly territorial species to begin with. And breeding is NOT something to be taken lightly. Especially if you are a new cham owner. Just give him space and he will chill out in a few months.
