So I just got done ordering the 4 new lights that I needed from PetMountain.. I hope there wasn't anywhere else that was cheaper than about $15 a bulb or I'm going to cry. Seriously. Ball my eyes out.

Wow, those are some price gouging prices on bulbs. You guys need to start shopping online and buy a few together in bulk you save a ton. Pangea has good pricing on bulbs and you get points toward future purchases.
And I dont think your gonna beat 15 each on bulbs thats really cheap. Does that price include shipping or no? Thats what drives up the price per bulb. Thats why I buy in bulk 2x a yr. And pangea has a flat rate of 9.95 on shipping. Cant beat that deal.

Well, I just finished unpacking and trying to install t-8 bulbs into t12 fixtures. Didn't work so hot.
$100 down the tubes.
Anyone know a source of good cheap t-8 48" fixtures?

Or something like that. LOL I just know they don't fire up in the old fixtures my old tubes were using...
Ironically enough last time I used my pangea points was for a 48 inch 5.0 and I got it I think basically free
. I really like how that system works. Thats were I got mistking too and some other really nice stuff to buid up my points. Super fast shipping too. Any local shop though I guess $30 is standard sounds like for 18inch though.

What about Home depot? I had to do the same thing, I bought a T8 bulb and had a T12 fixture. I think I got a double one for $20. Which isn't what I'd call cheap for a fixture, but it's best one I could find.

Lowe's have double 4ft t-8's for around $20. And 5.0 lights are way cheap at reptile shows.

I forgot to order my 10.0 too. Dang it! I hope they will combine that with my other shipment? Oh well my sister is having her baby today. c: New nephew. Pretty great! LOL

I bought them at home depot. Cheap, but don't ask the people there they don't know the difference. I had to dig for mine.

So.. they are now on a truck waiting to get here. I sadly missed out on adding that extra 10.0 bulb to my order for the beardie I will be getting later in February or in March. POOP.

Since we are kinda bitchin' about lights...
Drove almost 30 min ea way to home depot, bought a 48" hood, they don't sell black anymore so I also bought a can of primer and flat black. Painted it, lined it in reflective tape, inserted brand new 5.0 and a 6500k....it wont turn on
Tried everything, already whined about it to Suzi!

Why did you want it in black? Just curious...
If I had the choice in color hoods Id take black too, it would match my cages. As for painting them, Im entirely to busy/lazy to do that.
