I caught this guy today and he is living on a few plants that are on the island in my kitchen.

I saw a mantis today at school while walking over to my last class it was in the middle of the walkway and people were just starring at it waiting till someone stepped on it or something. Me being the weirdo that I am picked it up and walked it over to the garden and put it in a plant. I sure he thanked me it almost looked like he was praying for me to do good on my exam after I dropped him off.:p Ohh ya I forgot to say my Professor saw me do this and im sure he thinks I am crazy. :D just a little bit of what goes on in my daily life for y'all.

Funny you say this, I called an ooth breeder that has all kinds of mantis and asked her for the chinese ooths that have hundreds of offspring. Once the nymphs grow I wanted to feed them to the chams. Well I told the girl that sells the mantis what I do with them and she got mad at me and said "if people knew she sold mantis as feeders she would be run out w/ a stick", and now she refuses to sell to me because she knows they will be eaten. Lol!!!:D

There's just somethings you have to keep on the downlow ;). Telling a insect enthusiast about your insectivores, is one of them.

!!! You want to do what with my ovas.

Guess she was really thankful, hopefully that ootheca is fertile, than you could have some spares to feed off, or have a bunch of free roaming mantids running through your house :p

A bunch of free roaming mantids really doesn't sound bad to me at all.... That way the loose cricket/fly population is kept in check.

See ya,

good point, I have house geckos that live in the knooks and crannies of my stands that my cages are on and they eat all the spare crickets at night, if you turn on the light its like a bunch of cockroaches scurrying off a piece of fruit. :p
