mali uromastyx, Help!

Sage

Hello I have just purchased a mali uromastyx from my local pet store Tuesday but just sudenly died today:confused:. When we woke up this morning he was rubbing his head in the ground and twisting side to side and up and down with his mouth open. He passed away at about 5:00pm today. His eyes were very dry today. The last couple days hes been great. He has a 100watt heat bulb and a 12" UVA/UVB light. He has crushed walnut shells as a substate. He has been eating dandelion leaves, vegatables, and crickets. Please help us. He is bright yellow and orange and very beautiful. He is a male and 2 years old.
Thanks

found out today it was not impaction but was kidney failure due to the pet store feeding too many crickets.

First, I'm sorry for your loss.

He has crushed walnut shells as a substrate.

Walnut shells are sand blasting media, not reptile bedding. They're great for blasting old paint off of metal you don't want to scratch, but they're horrible for intestines.

There's a huge warning on my caresheet (and any reputable caresheet) about that garbage.
