male vs female agression

every where i turn everyone says males are more personable and easy to tame then females, and that females are the ones who get aggressive... i dont know about you but every cham i have ever owned and all those that my friends own or have owned shoots this rule down. its the opposite in my experience. and the whole reason for that is how much you handle them. so i wish petstores and online resources would quit saying females are more aggressive and start saying "it doesn't matter male or female what matters is how much attention and love you give to him/her"

I havent found that to be true.

I think aggression is a cham by cham thing, not a male/female thing.

Some days my male veiled wants nothing to do with me, and my female is more than happy to come out and play.

Sometimes, its the other way around.

same here, i have veiled female we bought together from the same clutch. they only hatched a few days apart and are the same size. their cages are exact copies of each other (we call them our twins) we handle them the same amount and some days they both are calm, others their not, some days Lulu wants nothing to do with us others its switched. it is a cham by cham AND a day to day thing but the general aspect of it is how often you handle them. honestly, every breeder we were thinking of buying from told us males make better pets and i'm pretty sure they do this so they can sell the males because they sell for higher prices do to coloration. thats my opinion in why 3 books and numerous websites and breeders have told me females are more aggressive

I think breeders push males becuase they sell for higher, and because females are 'harder' to care for, since they have the egg laying thing going for them.

but my female veiled laid 38 perfect little eggs with no problems whatsoever. and now those eggs are sitting in my closet, waiting to hatch.

and like you said, males have better color.. so they sell higher.
