Male Veiled Appetite

Is it normal for a 8 month old male veiled chameleon to not eat any crickets and just some hornworms? I've tried feeding him crickets in free-roam, and in a container but he won't eat them. But when I show a hornworm in a cage he eats it like a five-star meal. Is he addicted? If so how can I break it?

It's normally from them to prefer hornworms over crickets. Around 8 months old I cut my guys back to every other day feedings. A variety of well gutloaded feeders if best for chameleons. Try skipping food a couple days and then try the crickets.
