Lump on tail

Your Chameleon - I have a male, Veiled Chameleon he is roughly 4 years old and has been in my care for 4 years as well.
Handling - I handle him about 3-4 times a week but does vary a lot depending on the mood he is in.
Feeding - He gets a mixture of crickets and locusts, but mainly locusts. Waxworms are given every so often.
Supplements - His supplement brand is the komodo powdered calcium supplement with Vitamin D3
Watering - He gets sprayed 4-5 times a day and i have seen him drinking regularly.
Fecal Description - He poos about once a week with it being brown and soft with the urates a white colour.
History - He has had a bacterial eye infection in the past with the vets saying it will never recover fully. And also a hard lump on his head, the vets have said it cannot be removed but doesn't affect him in any way.

Im wondering if anyone knows what this could be. It hasn't affected him in anyway and to the touch it is quite soft, I think it might be a little tender when pushed for him but not painful. It has been there for a few weeks now (my vet is away on holiday) and did seem to go down but recently has got bigger.

Can you post a photo of the lump on his head too and what the treatment for the eye infection was please?

Soft lumps are usually abscesses or something else that the body has walled off, perhaps a parasite. It is interesting he also has a hard lump on his head. If it is an abscess, it might be draining from an infection/entrance wound (which could be as small as a pin prick) somewhere else in his body. Is this a wild caught by any chance?

Unfortunately there is a chance he may be wild caught as I did get him from a pet store (he was still a young juvenile). He got the lump on his head when he was about 1 years old, so this made me think it didn't have anything to do with the lump as he is now 4, but I can understand if they are linked. From what i can remember I think the lump on his head was an abscess but because of the location and other reasons I can not remember there was only very little my vets could do.

sorry was quite hard to get it to focus, but you can also slightly see his bad in this as well

Emily, from what I have seen on here, and especially in Veilds, is the lumps are usually abcesses on the bridge of the nose. Those tend to lead to some type of eye problem as the sinus cavity is right there and it is all connected. Normally they are not removed, but lanced or squeezed out. Maybe his is something different, but it sure looks like all the other abcesses that people post on here. Are you sure your vets know chameleons well? As far as the lump on the tail, I really have no idea. Sorry I can't answer on that one. Definitely something to have looked at by a vet, but not sure the one you have been going to!

Thankyou for your help!! Yes I will definitely have a look online at vets near me who have a lot of experience with chameleons. I will get them to have a look at it and see what they say.

That looks like it might be related to an abscess in the sinuses. He looks like he has swelling/fluid build up in the tissues around his eyes.

I'm dealing with abscesses in a fairly recent wild-caught import. The vet is hoping he can cope with it himself, since we don't even know where the infection originated. My quad seems to have sorted it out (with a little help of antibiotics), but it will take a long, long time for him to reabsorb everything.

Good luck with your boy.

if the chameleon had an abcess on the nose that wasn't cleaned out it could very well have spread. Both could be related to the eye infection too. With chameleons, the "pus" is like cottage cheese and the antibiotics won't penetrate it and kill it off so it needs to be cleaned out so it won't spread.

Plus, the abscess might not be anywhere near the infection--it might be where the infection is draining to.
