Lost Bug

I dropped a black soldier fly larvae somewhere on a plant in my chameleon enclosure and could not find where it went. Are they okay to be left there? They won’t eat the plant or harm anything, right? I don’t want to have to tear the enclosure apart to search for it.

No worries, it'll just eventually turn into a fly and your cham can hunt it down itself

pretty sure theyre fine, theyll just hatch into flies eventually and the cham will hunt them down

The black soldier fly larvae should not be kept on soil, it could get impacted and lead to a hefty vet bill. It is also hard to find a vet that will perform the necessary surgery on the larvae in order to save it's life.

Micro surgery is very expensive

If the cham sees is and eats it while its in the dirt then we coud have an impaction issue but most healthy chams are fine after eating dirt
