Loss of Color

Does anyone know why my chameleon is losing his red color. At 7 months of age he had a lot of red. Now at 10 months old he is starting to lose the red and look dull. The first picture is a current picture of him right after a shed.

I'm starting to think it's the weather. I was just researching this and looking at what others have posted and mostly people just said to get them in sunlight as much as possible.

Does it take more to get him fired up or reactive? Correct me if I'm wrong (not a panther locale expert!), but a panther like this would show more red diffusion when excited. The blue and green tones depict calm. Maybe he's a little too contented with life and doesn't feel the need to display. What happens if you show him his reflection?
