This guy was sold to me as a blue barred ambanja. When I look at him, I do see ambanja, but someone has been telling me its Nosybe.

what are your thoughts (this is the relaxed coloration)

really nice! Cham

Thats what my guy looks like fired up.

I guess there is a posibility its not Nosy Be but thats what I see.

Where did you get him?

This was produced by a (what apparently use to be) quality breeder up here in Canada. The more I talk to people about this situation I am in, the more people tell me they found themselves in the same situation with the exact person.

This has me quite angry as I have 30 offspring ready to go in a month and 300 egg incubating + 3 gravid ladies.

Im waiting to hear back from the breeder to see if there was a mix up in what was sold to me back two years ago. I had kept ambanjas in the past (red bar WCs) but had never seen a blue barred ambanja so took the word of the breeder (whom I had dealt with in the past).

Yes, these are beautiful chams, I just hope people will be willing to pay 200.00 CDN for offspring that I cant definately say for sure is of pure bloodlines and not a mutt.

**** (thats where I swore)

ohh, and just out of curiosity.

Can anyone pull up a photo of a blue barred ambanja from what they consider a reputable breeder (I would love to provide a comparison)??

This is an F1 (so Im told) so its possible something happened before the animals made it into the breeders possession (we have all heard the gory stories of housing of panther chameleons overseas)

Here is a blue on blue Ambanja, Carsley. These are his colors when he is looking at a girl.

And here is a series of photos of Azure (purchased originally from Bluebeastreptile), our blue on blue Ambanja, who, now that he is mature, is a purple bar. He does have the yellow lip, whereas Carsley does not.
