looking for information on where i can buy dwarf chameleons, such as Cape, Setaro's,and KwaZulu-Natal Midlands dwarf chameleons. im intrested in a pair of them but cant find any info on anyone selling them.

Normally I would say you have not got any legitimate shot at finding Dwarf Chameleons here in the USA. As they are normally only exported from South Africa with extremely tough to come by permits. However you may be in luck as a couple of shipments that I'm aware of made it into the USA last year and I read some where that they are apart of a breeding program. The require a lot of homework for the husbandry of these species and are expensive if you can find any CB babies. I would only recommend them to expert chameleon keeper. They are really neat species though.

There are only a few people in the states working with B. thamnobates and even fewer folks working with B. transvaalense. Give it another year or two and you should numbers increase should the breeding efforts prove fruitful. Outside of that, there aren't many other species typically available.

Thanks, Motherload Chameleon.

Kevin, in case you're not familiar with this site: Adcham. I think you'll like it, and that link directs to nine Bradypodion species profiles. Welcome to the forums!

Nice double post. :) Dwarf, leaf, and pygmy are often used to describe the stump-tailed chameleons that look like dead leaves while dwarf is typically the only term used to describe the live-bearing members of Bradypodion.

As Motherload Chameleon and Kent wrote, "Dwarf Chameleon" refers to species of the genus Bradypodion, whereas "Pygmy Chameleon" refers to species of the genera Brookesia, Rhampholeon, and Rieppeleon. See the Adcham profiles.

Kent, yeah, now I got you back ;-). Others, please correct my information if incorrect. I may be overzealous in treating topics about which I'm liable to be mistaken, but I suspect that I learn more by taking an active role.

thanks everyone i had no idea that they were that hard at getting your hands on. i was interested in them cause ive never seen anyone with them and that they are livebearing.
