ive been tryin to expand my panther ambilobe chameleons food source...atm ive been trying to look for silkworms either in Houston TX or on a good trust worthy site to order them from any ideas???

Your best bet is probably going to be online (you MIGHT find them in a reptile shop, but I doubt it). I've used mulberry farms for silk and horn worms (which you may want to try as well, just be warned hornworms grow FAST).

check out the site sponsors, I've only bought silks and horns from mulberry farms (which arrived alive with no issues) but I know others sell them too.

I bought silkworm eggs online from Coastal Silkworms. I have them refrigerated and just take out what I need. They arrived fine and they are all hatching with no problems when I take them out.

Do you have to do anything special with the silkworm eggs. I am every interested in ordering some but it is summer an I feel like the eggs are better to order. Also I can feed him smaller ones and the won't grow to big during shipping. So all you do is keep the eggs in the ref rig and take some out and they hatch? How long do they take to hatch normally?

I take a few eggs out of the frig, put them in a petri dish, and keep them at about 85 to 89 degrees. They hatch in about 6 days. They will hatch at room temperature too; it will just take a little longer. Also, I line the eggs up in a row. That way when they hatch I can lay a sliver of chow next to the whole row and not worry about getting it on top of any of the hatchlings or eggs. Whether you order eggs or worms, just make sure they include a cold pack or two when shipped! This heat is ridiculous!
