Lights

I'm doing my research before I get a veiled chameleon and I wanted to know how long the lights stay on. Like from the morning till night (times). Because my mom wont let me have the lights on (school) because i told her they would probably need to be on.but If she wont let me have them on cause no one is home from 8:10 in the morning till 4:00.

but
I do have a window where the sun rises would having the curtains open and the blinds open be okay for him until i get home?

But this is all only if I get one but I will be getting one during the summer while I'm home it's just for me to know for the next school year in august -_-

they need UVB rays which can't go through plastic or glass. Also, you don't want them near the window because it gets too drafty (assuming its open).

You're cham will set its waking schedule according the the sun, no matter how you set your lights he will see the sun come up through you're blinds or something like that.

To be honest you have to leave those lights on during the day, get an automated timer and put it on a power strip, its the safest way to do it.

you have to convince your mom or else you can't have a cham, I'm assuming shes afraid of fires? just fireproof the area around the cage and outlet (certain power strips are made to not cause fires if I'm not mistaken).

lights should be on and off for intervals of 12 hours

no the window wont be open >.< by the way Im getting him in the summer when Im home but I might come up with somthing for next school year
