Lights 1 v 2

OK so ATM I've got a hood on top with 2 grow lights for the plants then the UV strip and a single 100w spot light. I was wondering would it be better using 2 60w spot lights?

No you just want one basking spot unless you are having trouble keeping the entire cage warm. If you have your basking temp sweet spot at 100 watt then dropping to 60 watt will make it 5-10 degrees cooler.

It's more keeping the cage warm, good old English weather. Iv just wired up my bosc monitor with 2 to raise the temps all over and he's loving it. Didn't know weather it would help boris but he's not as colourful or as lively now it's cooler. Even though his basking spot hits 45 on warmer days

Any suggestion to this? Will it make a difference to him in terms of make him happier with added warmth/ light

I've been considering two bulbs for my Sav (Bosc) as well, she is getting big and needs the coverage a bit more!

I would say worth a try for the cham. You plan to keep the basking spot the same, just raise the ambient temps near the top of his whole cage? Depends on the size of your cage too.
Personally I have a much lower basking spot temp than 45C but I have been thinking of raising ambient temps, I have noticed a very slight decline in activity levels/ increase in basking time of my male cham.

My bosc loves the extra light. My cham though ATM normally just stays put where he was sleeping. Maybe Iv done it wrong and there's to much heat in the basking spot and not enough ambient heat so he stays down low.
Hes not the nice colours he was and not active at all
I:confused:

In your situation I would lower the basking temp to 30C and see how that changes the ambient temps. Has his appetite still been the same?

At 30 the ambients drop quite harsh
He still comes and munchies his locusts. Not as much as he use to but I think that's more down to him getting older. On the other hand I would love to see him eating more
