Need ur guys opinion ,Wich is better a single UVB/heat in one bulb. Or a separate UVB and a separate heat light ? I heard separate is better for chams but in the wild they one have one ,the sun.
Please help me in this matter..thank u

What type of setup? Ive heard an all in one like the powersun can be good for free ranges. Linear bulb and seperate basking bulb are best for a cage imo. Easier to get a proper temp/uvb gradient I would think.

At first it didn't matter as long as it got uvb ,but 8 Panthers later I need to keep them happy n healthy and a happy n healthy electric bill .thanks

Do u know why separate lights in a cage is better?

Because they dont always want to be under the UVB..... Sometimes after eating they will just want heat or sometimes they just wanna chill in the shade. When they are small you will find they spend almost the whole time under the UVB because they are growing like crazy and it helps them build bone

Yes. Or rather, I have an opinion on it. The MV bulb might put off to much heat, so you can move it farther away, but then is the uvb reaching the cham? If you have a uv meter then you could make sure. It may work:confused: Ive never seen anyone use them on cages, just freeranges. The two bulb setup is very easy to adjust. Working in a small area like a 2x2x4 cage, the hardest part imo is getting all of the gradients you need crammed into one little box. Heat, uvb, and RH being the main gradients we concern ourselves with. Imo everything with chams is providing them with all the nessacary(I always murder the sp of that word:mad:) gradients, and letting them regulate what they need. It just seems easier to achieve the heat/uvb gradients with a two bulb setup.

No problem. I caould see how you would want to explore options with 8 chams! ;)Thats just my opinions on the matter though.

ibdragons, I used to use one light, now I use two. One big reason is that sometimes it gets hot here and it's good to be able to turn off the heat light while leaving the UVB light on.

It just gives you more flexibility.
