Lighting Uvb

Does any put their uvb lighting inside the enclosure? Currently have mine on top but am getting only a 2.0 reading through the mesh with sticks about 8 inches from top. Bulb is a t5 ho 5% about 3 months old.

It's probably better to get a new UVB set up. This is a 5.0 reptisun 24" also 3 months old in a reptibreeze with the branches at 8".

I wasn't clear on the exact numbers the basking branch should be hitting, and also am only hitting 02.0
Will just replacing the bulb work? Or is it a problem with the hood?

Thank you for the advice. I tested my arcadia bulb from another reptile enclosure. Now reading 4.5 to 3.9. Have new arcadia bulbs on order and will be switching away from reptisun.

@ehdee6 Seconded because I just replaced my bulb and instantly got 3.0 readings

Arcadia is better for UVB. Reptisun seems to burn in really fast reducing the output levels quite a bit a few months in. Just make sure when you take your readings your right below the UVB bulb at the branch or where the cham rises off the branch. If the UVB bulb is even over a few inches you will not get accurate readings.
