So I have a question on the lighting of my cham's cage. I currently have the Exo Terra 5.0 Repti Glo Compact 13W and a normal 40W house bulb in a compact top on my 18x18x18 mesh Exo Terra cage. I wanted to know if it would be better for the Cham if I purchased the Zoo Med 5.0 Self Bassalted bulb instead to replace the Exo Terra one considering all of the negative effects I have heard of it.
That was question number one, the second question is would a 26W Zoo Med 5.0 be too much for a lil chameleon? Mine is a 2mon old veiled. The basking spot now is at 85-90, with the bottom of his cage reading at 72-75. The humidity reads at 36-56/62% during the day as well.
Also, an update about Optimus' condition, we took him to the vet and he recommended ReptAid. So we purchased some and have been administering it, which is quite the challenege with how little he is. We've been following the directions and he gets 1drop/day, its only day 2 but he has been more active and sneezing/coughing less. So we're hopiong for the best!
Thanks,
Matt & Britt
