Hey all,

I bought my charm a 150 watt bulb from the pet store for his basking spot well to say the least when i was misting a little droplet hit the bulb and it cracked so i turned it off and unpluged it and took it out and put his old 75 watt house bulb back in there... well this dosnt create enof heat in these times of the year my house gets cold so i went and bout a 75 watt clear flood light and befor i use it i wanted to make sure it wouldnt hert his eyes and i wanted to know what you guys, and girls use for you basking lights?? pic's of my cage and its set up right here... https://www.chameleonforums.com/members/shimpy45-albums-zem-s-cage-2011.html

set your dome flat on the screen. It does not have to be raised like you have it. The temp will be hotter by doing that. i would not recommend a flood light at all. Try doing what I said and see if the 75 watt does not get you a 85degree or so basking temp. If not try the 100 if your house is so cold. What are your house temps anyways? What are your ambient cage temps and what are you measuring the temps with. I know a flood light would hurt my eyes. i would not use one. JMO

Veild charm and around 68'-80' degree's as of now with just the house light ill try setting it flat like you sead ill return the flood light i just remeber reading about this other member on there that sead he used one... i wish i remebered where i read it at but i guess that he was wrong that is i figured that i would ask you guys

lay the dome flat and try that. It should make a difference. I would cover up that soil also with some large rocks. I have seen on here where they have eaten that little white stuff in the soil that is like styrofoam.
