Light from TV at night

I have my cage all set up and I am getting my Panthers soon. I had one question. My TV is on after lights out sometimes and it gives a soft glow in the room at night. The tv is not facing the Cham cage. Do you think this would bother their sleep? Should I put a blanket over the cage when I am watching TV after lights out. It is a really soft light almost like the moon. I cant imagine it would bother them but I guess I will have to wait and see. Thank you

I put a blanket over my cage at night as my cage is next to my computer. I have found my chameleon will not go to sleep if he is distracted by the light. Alls you can do is try and see. Mine sits in the sleeping position with tail curled but his eyes remain open. As soon as I put on the blanket and check shortly after, he has his eyes closed! I am sure not every chameleon is the same, so as I said just try and see how it goes.

My chameleon goes to bed just fine at night when I have the TV and other lights around my apartment on. I turn his lights off around 730pm, he's out by 745pm. I have all the lights in my apt off by 10pm each night when I go to work.

My cham goes to sleep about an hour before his lights go off, so he is generally tolerant of light sources and relaxed around them. Probably different per individual, only one way to find out.

Mine is fine too as long as the lights are dim enough tv doesn't seem to bother him. He does like to watch the office sometimes though.lol:)

I am glad i found this post this morning, i have been wondering the samething. But its funny because i have taken the same precautions as carol5208, our little girl will also be in her tree tail all curled up and in the sleep position, but with both eyes lookin at me. I put a big towel over both my chams cages and they sleep just fine. I was curious if sound kept them up also, but i found on another post that chams cant hear...?

I was also wondering about chams going to sleep a little bit earlier than lights out, i see psychodrake has seen his do this. My guy has only done it once or twice, but there is so reason for worry right?!

I have a porch light on that shines through a little bit, and my guys go to sleep just fine.

Mine are both in the lounge opposite the TV - the only ligh on in the room is from the telly once it gets dark and maybe a small low lamp light. Mine have never had any problem sleeping - they go to the back or top of their respective vivs and are in position before lights out time. Currently it is summer in the UK and it doesn't get really dark outside until almost 10pm, but their lights still go off at 7.30pm. They just take longer to find a roosting place sometimes, especially when the sun is still shining in through the window.

I wrap mine up. Between the TV, the computer and the backyard light that goes on when the dogs go outside, it just seems better.

Ha my lil guy does the same thing. He looks at me like he wants to attack. I think I will try the blanket over the cage. Does that affect them in any way? What I mean by affect is breathing or stress level.

I thought my tv and sometime room light would bother my vieled baby now almost 5 months old, at night but i often check on him and he's always sound asleep, never awake or moving unless i accidentally knock into his cage. I even skype with my girlfriend with the room light on and its to the right of his cage several feet away and even that doesnt bother him and we chat well past midnight I think that if its a soft white light or colored light like from a tv then it shouldnt bother or mess with your panthers sleep.

i got my oust and veiled in my living room at night when the lights go off they go to sleep and i have a 52" tv and they just sleep right through it. when i turn off their cage lights were ever they are thats were they sleep tv doesn't bother them at all but each cham is different the only way your cham will get use to it is to expose him and see what happens good luck.
