lethargic

Hello, my female veiled cham layed her eggs last night. She buried then and now is just sitting on top of the nest. She hasn't moved all day. Very lethargic, not even wanting to bite me, but seems alert better than this morning. Is this normal?...is she just wore out. They are infertile, no male if that makes a difference?

Here are a few things you should probably try. If she remains lethargic, however, I would say it's time for a trip to the vets. A lethargic veiled chameleon, unless it is quite old, can be a sign of trouble (which you already know, which is why you started this thread). They do get worn out with the egg laying, but my female veiled chams, though tired, remain quite feisty when disturbed.

It is a good idea to mist the female very well after egg laying. Seeing that she drinks. Some people even give them a shower afterwards. Also, feed her well. As much as she will eat. And some of the food should be dusted with a calcium supplement.

Also, if you could answer these questions below, it would help to see if some adjustment should be made. The questions are taken from the "how to ask for help" instructions on this forum.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage construction (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and type of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Location - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
Current Problem - The current problem that you are concerned about.

screen 2ft long 1 1/2 ft wide, 2 ft tall, repti sun spot 75 wt, flourscent 75 wt.
75 to 85 day, 65 to 70 night, hotter higher..digital thermometer,40 to 60 humidity, misting, hydrometer.
scheffera, golden pothos
top of cage 6 feet from floor,corner of room, out of the way
veiled female, 6 months old. had for 5 1/2 months,
never been handled to mean
8 crickets every other day, parsley, wax worms occasionally, gut feeding with vegetables
calcium with d3 2 a week, calcium no d3 1 a week, multivit 1 week
mistting real and art plants 2x day, about 2 minutes or yill i see water beading. and seen them a few times drinking
dark brown to light brown fairly solid stools with the usual white urine deposit. never been tested for parasites
just layed eggs yesterday first time, never been handled...too mean lol..
