Large enclosure feeding methods??

I have an adult male mitsio cross in a large enclosure. It is roughly 8x8x4. I used to have my plants planted in the cage, but I made the mistake of over watering. Now I have the plants potted, but would like to go back to a planted enclosure now that I have learned my lessons. I have always hand fed, but I don't really like using it as the only method. I would like to free range feed. I am just not sure how well he will be able to find crickets. I have never cup fed and don't really want to start. I had thought about building large feeding bins where he could crawl in and out of but feeders could not escape. I generally feed crickets and super worms with a few treats in between. I Haven't thought of how to do it yet. Just looking for ideas. I also had a terrible pavement ant infestation (aka sugar ants). Those guys don't mess around. I could not get rid of them. I had to have the exterior of my house sprayed. I also feed him out side in his sunning enclosure. He eats best out there.
