Large cage

I have perminately decided I am building a large habitat for valcron and I am curious about the siding. I'm using wood as the frame and mesh all around but with the mesh... I was at Home Depot and could only find the fiberglassish mesh screen I could use but I am afraid to use it due to heat lamp which could cause melting or fire? I'm not sure. Advice would be nice

Oh and I'm also doing a drainage system on the bottom and doing the tube Lighting up above. I heard they do a better job projecting the light and heat. Using my fogger and buying new plants. Then buying another baby so the cage will have add on capability along with a black sheet so they don't see eachother

You need to use aluminum so that crickets don't chew through it.

I'm going to be using a container for the crickets to scurry around in. That way I don't have to worry about them breaking loose

Not on my watch! Haha ill drown em'. Does the cage need to be straight up and down or can it spiral and bend. Stuff like that ha. The only bad I can possibly see is him not finding food. And will fiberglass work or should I try and find metal?

You say that, but there will be that one cricket who has super jump legs and gets out and chews through your mesh.

Home Depot had it where I am, but mixed in with fiberglass !!! Otherwise check window suppliers.

Home Depot has it. Some depots are better than others though....worked there for a year and a half. :\

Its called aluminum mesh.

Only if you leave exposed edges.

Attach the screen to the exterior of the wooden frame, and then cover the exterior of the wooden frame with thin trim pieces to cover the exposed edges. Or vice versa.

Not as long as you're confident in your carpentry skills, and can make a sturdy frame.
