I have a dual ultrasonic humidifier from Walgreens and I'm confused. It's been working great, but I've noticed that one of the tanks has been doing all the pumping and the other resovoir hasnt been touched. Manual says nothing about it. Something wrong?

do you have any pics..not sure what the walgreens one looks like...

do you guys point/mod yours so it's going directly into the cage? I have mine sitting level with w/my setup and it brought humidity up from 55 to 65. I have it facing away from the cage and I can feel the mist from 12 feet away. I'm glad I picked one up bc it will be great for winter.

ive actually been thinking on how i can mod mine..i have it on the wall mounted behind the upper part of my big ficus, and it raised my ambient humidity from 35 to 50 pretty consistant(i have a "martyking" lol mist system so that does the rest, but) i was thinking of maybe adding some large diameter tubing and force the humid air to split across two sides..

There are plenty of threads on here where people have modded there humidifier to fog there cage. If you post a pic of yours iam sure someone can advise you of how to go about it!

Yes, mine looks extremely simple to mod. But, is it o.k to be pumping a constant flow into the cage? I'd imagine 30 minute intervals would be sufficient and I do have another timer sitting around. I've read it can cause respiratory problems..ANyways here's a pic for shits and gigs.

oh thats pretty much the easiest style to mod, get a flexable plactic hose, secure it over the end and run the hose where you want.

You could always cap the end of the hose and cut little holes along the length of the hose, so that the spread of mist in the cage is even! (yes i have O.C.D)

ya im wondering if there is some calci build up on the parts..these thing build it up like crazey if you dont use filtered water..

White vinegar works great for removing that build up, and is a natural disinfectant against bacteria, just let the parts soak for like 15 min.

Actually, that's the reason why I bought it. Plus, I found one for $25 bucks w/shipping and they are like 44 new : ). I'm going to run it in between mistings and partially through the night.
