thats the problem, I do not know what Kevin is exactly the pet store that sold him to me said he was an ambilobe and 8 months old and cb but I have found different...he came with three different types of worms (he has being treated for them currently and he is not extrememly colorful maybe because he is not feeling well) but he is friendly w me and he is making an improvement w hydration and a tiny weight gain...does anyone peeking at this photo wonder if kevin is female? the vet specialist that we went to thought he was male but the more I examine photos in the forum the more I question his looks...his "shovel" is fairly prominent...any thoughts?

does he ever get the brigh coloring?
what is your basking temp at?

what type of cage is he in?

Hmmm, very interesting. He appears to be male. I see a distinct bulge, but I've never seen such a "drab" male panther. I don't mean that to offend you. Good luck with the treatments and for sure keep us posted!

lol no offense taken! he is beautiful no matter the color, mostly I am concerned about getting Kevin the best ultimate care that I can provide and the most info I can obtain. His cage is half glass and screen, his basking area is supplied by a zoomed ceramic fixture w a zoomed 75w basking light, he has a drip system and plenty of variety in his diet, though he did just take deworming meds yesterday ( he came w friends) the vet said he is definetly wc which is fine, not what we had ordered specifically but none the less we are learning quickly:) thanks for replying and helping me

He's definitely a male. And if you can "see" through how dark he is, it almost looks like he may be Ambanja, although obviously that's a stab in the dark.

He will probably come around in a little more time when he's been treated for his "friends" (lol) gains more weight, and settles in a bit more. We've had some WC veileds are work that were solid black for weeks, and after working with them intensively to get them de-wormed, feeding, and hydrated they are all finally green. So it make take a little time but all that orange/red on his face tells me he has some amazing potential under that moodiness!
