Hi everyone!
My Kammi, Panther Chameleon, hasn't eaten for several days now. I'm getting worried.
Kammi is exactly 1 years old now and I've had him since he was 1 week old. He's male. He has always been perfectly happy and healthy and I was sure everything is correct here ... but something's up as he's never spent so long without eating (he's of course had his cases of not eating a day or two, but not this long)
He has a good, adult cage - full of branches, leaves, plants. He has a heat lamp and little heat mat, and other heating devices (outside the closure) as it's extremely cold here in Scandinavia ;-) I keep his cage a stable 24 degrees during day, 19 degrees night.
There are obviously good UV Lamps, but I was thinking - I put them in in January this year (9 months ago), I recall reading somewhere that even though they're not out, they should be changed every 6 months? Is that true? If so, could this affect his non-eating?
His most common feed is crickets and zophobas worms. I give both the crickets and zophobas proper cricket food/water (like little crystals) to be sure there is no insect poisoning and things to worry about from lettuce etc. Kammi's food should therefore be proper gutfed
Like I say, I am not doing anything different than the past year, but I worry about him not eating for so long - another thing might be that it's now crawling into winter, and I notice veeeeery slow shedding going on. Just a tiny bit by his back leg two days ago, and only today on his front left leg. He's never shedded this slow before ... Here attached is a picture of him taken 5 seconds ago (you can see the tiny bit of shedding behind his leg.)
I hope someone here has some pointers?
Cheers
