I just wanted to share with you all, ive rescued a veiled chameleon from a friends friend as she was keeping him in a small viv with no uv or heat bulb for the last few months! he is now in a 4 foot high mesh viv with uv light and a heat bulb, his viv is full of live plants and branches for him to walk on and hide in i mist the viv twice a day and have made a dripper for him to drink altho he is taking a while to get used to it as was given a water fountain from a young age, he was a dull brown colour when we brought him home but he is now displaying lovely greens and even blues when he is in the mood :) ive still got alot of work to do with him but glad he is finally showing signs of being happy, we took him out in the garden yesterday as it was lovely and sunny and he seemed to love it hadnt seen him so colourful as he was when outside and he liked climbing on us sittin on our shoulders or heads :) Just waiting to hear back from a vets to see if the will let me register him there so i can get him checked out, he seems ok to look at but want to check there is no hidden illnesses he has a strong grip and his bones are not bowed so hopefully not having the uv hasnt done much damage will post some pics when my friend emails them to me (she took some good ones on her camera)

glad to see you are doing all the right things. i hope you will be able to get registered at the vets, got pics? it realy is sad how some people can be so lazy, cruel and uneducated :( youre a good lad :)

the only pics ive got are bad quality as they are thru the mesh and taken on my phone will be getting some great pics of him soon :) will post them as soon as ive got them

Congrats on your rescue and good for you for rescuing him! It's good to see he is now in good hands and someone is caring for him as he should be cared for. It's sad when people are uneducated and try to care for one of these gems in cruelty. Hope the vet lets you register him so you can have him checked out! Good luck with everything and again congrats!

hanks i feel so blessed to have him in our home he is wonderful even if a bit moody but he has to learn that things are going to be done right he hasnt been misted before so doesnt seem to like it and doesnt drink much but im hoping that the dripper and the spraying will encourage him to drink properly as im not giving him a waterfall ive found that altho he doesnt like it much i can get him to drink a few drops if i spray him and just hope he will learn that the drips are his water source
