Just seems unhappy...

Ok, I PM'd kinyonga and will see what she thinks... Just to keep you updated, it doesn't seem like Yogi ate anything today at all. I put a bunch of crickets in a new food bowl I rigged up, and he went to check it out and was on the branch above it for a while, but didn't eat any of them! I'm so frustrated. I just want him to be healthy!

I looked at both pictures and the chameleon looks healthy from what I can see....but that doesn't mean that there isn't something causing the puffing up. Does it gape when its puffed up? Is the body slim when its not puffed up?

What size are the crickets you are feeding him?

He's a pretty decent size for how little he is (if that makes sense... I mean for his length, he's not too skinny). I'd say he's 3 1/2 - 4 in long, and ways 4-5grams. He's still a little guy.

When he puffs up, he sometimes will crack his mouth open a little bit and let a little "pop" noise out of his mouth, but isn't gaping his mouth wide.

We feed him small crickets, approx, 2 wk. olds, but some grow quickly and he will eat those big ones as well sometimes. He doesn't seem to have any problem eating when he does eat. Just doesn't do it often enough.

Also, today his poop looked a bit runnier than normal. Sorry to be gross, but don't want to leave out any detail that could actually be important.

I wish I knew what to tell you but sometimes I just don't know. If its a problem I haven't come across before or read about I can't give you my opinion. You need a vet to give you a diagnosis.

Also, just wanted to mention that I'm fairly positive that it is some kind of breathing issue.

I just went in to check on him while he was sleeping, and witnessed him puffing up and taking some deep, fast breaths, then exhaling with a little pop noise. And this is while he was asleep!

He doesn't have any kind of respiratory infection (per vet's test last month), so guess it must be aspiration pnemonia. I have no clue what the treatment for that will be, but guess I will have to call a vet again.

In an earlier post you said..."occasionally sleeps with his head lifted straight up as if having trouble breathing"...to me this means that there is something going on. Just my opinion.
