I Ordered a baby male Nosy Be about two months ago from
Chameleonsonly.com. I received him yesterday. He has been eating crickets and drinking, but a little scarish when I approach him. When i just opened the box, his color is light pink with black strips, but the color immediately turns dark brown. Is that normal? Is it because he is stressed?

yes, it is ok and he probably is stressed and scared and you cannot blame him! Just give him time to settle in and don't try and handle him right away as much as you want to. Just give him some space and let him get used to things and I am sure he will come around and brighten up. Sometimes they will not eat right away so atleast you don't have to worry about that!!!

That is completely normal...keep in mind you are HUGE compared to the little guy you got so of course he will be a bit scared. Also keep in mind that your new addition is not a dog so keeping him stress free when young is a must....with that note I do advise holding your new cham each day but keeping it to a few minutes at a time. I have had a number of chams from the Kammers and each one turned out to be great additions with their own little personalities. Never once have I purchased an agry cham from them that was untouchable.

You will notice that when you get into a routine on feeding etc he will come to trust you more and more and that you bring him goodies...with time you should be able to handle and not stress out your cham allowing him to move about on plants around the house etc..

Enjoy your new addition!!

I have a very sweet Kammer cham also! I did take Liddy's advise though and did not handle for the first few weeks so he could have a chance to settle in It was killing me, but I did exactly what she told me to do and it worked!
From then on I handled him everyday, now he comes right to me when I open the cage door.

All the chams in my picture folder on here are from the Kammers and I have had nothing but great success. I keep the handling to around when I feed him in the evening when he is more active so he can gain my trust more. I didnt touch him or approach the cage for the first few days except to feed and slowly starting working my way in. I had to on my hand for about 10-15min tonight without an issue after he ate a bit...but to his/her own there is no tried and true method.

awe, so cute! Is that a kammer??

Gecko, he looks great, and he's going to be a stunner once he's an adult! Just remember some chams can take longer to get use to our presence, try hand feeding from time to time, that usually helps!

Thank you, guys!

Hi! I have a Kammers too, seems like I am saying that all the time :)
Waiting on a Sinatra male and a (hopefully, fingers crossed) male from a fellow forum member.
Then I am done.....seriously.....I am not following in the footsteps of other members, don't know how they do it! :)
