There is not anything wrong with him at the moment that i can see but i would like you to take a look at him and tell me what i can change.

Your Chameleon - Jackson Chameleon, Male, Uknown Age if someone could tell me it would be greatly appreciated. I have had him for a month.
Handling - sometimes twice a week. He always stays a nice green color so i think he likes being held.
Feeding - Crickets, and other insects that i can find outdoors, (ordering mealworms wax worms and super worms soon) i put about 5 in a day but he only eats 2-4 per day. I feed the crickets with apple orange and finely ground cat food.
Supplements - rep cal calcuim without d3 twice a week and reptivite once every three weeks
Watering - Drip system mist 2-3 times a day for one-two minutes. i see him drink just about every day.
Fecal Description - White connected to Orange connected to a hard black piece on the end and as far as i know he has not went to the vet. He is CB.
History - I take him outside almost whenever the weather is warm enough and let him climb in the smaller trees in my yard.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - 16 by 30 by 32 reptarium.
Lighting - reptisun 5.0, and a 20 wt house bulb for heat. I change the lighting cycle very often depending on when the sun rises/falls outside
Temperature - floor is 73* and under basking light it is 86* Lowest overnight temp 60*
Humidity - i donk know the humidity levels because i dont know how or what to measure it with. i have coco husk substrate which is kept away from the chameleon by a weed barrier
Plants - i have some kind of tropical fern and ivy that i bought at walmart.
Placement - it is near a window in my room. nobody ever goes in there. I occasionally turn my fan on at night but i dont point it twards my chameleon. Also i sometimes open up the window for him on warm days when i cant take him outside. The top of my cage is 5' off the floor
Location - i live in Ny

Personally I would not handle him as much as you do. However the main concern I see is feeding and temp/humidity.

Apples and oranges are fine to gutload with but cat food is not. You can use other fruits and leafy greens. High protein diets such as cat food can cause gout and jacksonii are very susceptible to gout and other supplement issues. I supplement my montanes with calcium with out D3 once a week and D3 once a month or so. I do not use any type of vitamin powders for them unless I have a gravid female and even then she will not get very much.

You can go to Walmart, Lowes, HD or any other type store and get a digital thermometer that reads humidity also. They are only around 10$. You want his cage to be around 70 degrees at the bottom and up to 78 or so at the top. I would not let ambient temps get above 80 for him. Basking site can be around 85. At night he needs a good temp drop. Anything below 60 degrees would be ideal. Humidity should be around 70 daytime and higher at night. These temps and humidity are detrimental to montane species health.

Edit: He is a good looking jacksonii!

suppliments...

d3 two times a month

vitamins two times a month

calcium- atleast 4 times a week

if you can, get him away from that window, in NY you can get crazy weather! Just be safe..

your gutload as stated is little off, try dry (cricket crack) you can get it on here from a few people and wet, try oranges, squash, kale, mustard greens, papayas, carrots

apples have alot of sugar in them so use just a hunk

great looking cham tho :)

I would not use the same supplement schedule for a jacksonii as you would a veiled or panther. As was said, montane species are very prone to over supplementation problems.

I am not sure on his age. Some good greens to gutload with are kale, mustard greens, and collards just to name a few. As was mentioned cricket crack is a good gutload that a member here makes. Just make sure to get the montane mix.

supps, hygrometer

personally i think 4x weekly calcium and 2x monthly vits is over doing it for a xanth. cal 2x a week, d3 once a month, and multivites (proformed vitaminA) once every 6-8 weeks (all in sparing amounts) should be plenty, maybe even too much for a xanth that gets regular outside sun. herptivite (proformed vitaminA) is probably safer than reptivite (preformed vitamin A). humidity is measured by a hygrometer, zilla makes a decent thermometer hygrometer for $20. it would help if there was a size reference in the pic, but guessing from general appearance i would say he is at least a year old. jmo

thermometer/hygrometer

zilla thermometer/hygrometer, hi-low memory of both and a seperate sensor for temp and humidity (56" leads). radioshack also has a good selection of thermometer/hygrometers
