just a male or a pair?

Hello from Philadelphia. I've never had a male chameleon kept alone, whether it was Jackson or Panther. Pairs have been housed separately, out of view of the other gender but exposed to each other from time to time. The posturing and mating behaviors are interesting to watch, if you don't overstress the females. Oh plus there's the possibility of babies..............

Is it bad for males to be housed alone without exposure to females at all? They're not the most dynamic animals, but it seems like they'd be "bored" if they never get to show off. Would exposure to a mirror briefly from time to time be of any benefit?

I've read here that Parson's need SPARRING between two males to spark the interest in mating. Could This account for some of the Panthers listed here as "not a lady's man"?

I doubt occasional views of another cham will hurt one. You know what they say about moderation. Stress can be good and bad. Too much is as bad as too little. While I doubt a cham would ever be "bored" enough to decline healthwise, some stimulation isn't terrible. What you don't want is to keep them in view of each other constantly especially as they won't be able to do anything about it in captive setups. They can only retreat so far.
