Jealous of U.S sales

Over here in the uk it can take a long long time to make sales of quality chameleons, people see to be more interested in cheap crosses but those of us who strive to get good lines from Europe and further seem to struggle at times to make sales, I have a freind who is getting close to selling up because he carnt sell a very rare local in our country but i look on these forums and the U.S an European owners don't seem to have any trouble at all, am I right in thinking this? An if so why do you think that is

Don't you have a tube running under the channel to Europe? How hard is it to drive over to France and move between country borders?

The grass may look greener over here and there. But I'm sure it's at a greater cost than one might think. Just a few years back I remember Faly's selling for $800.00 plus USD.

That's true, it's also kind of the reason of the thread, I'm hoping over the next few months to meet some people in Europe who are after quality locals as I have some cap est panthers due to hatch in four months and also have some very good nosy faly and nosy mitsio witch will be breeding next year so I want people who would want to buy and trade for new lines aswel but like I say I'm also interested to find out what it's like in Europe and the U.S as people see to appreciate chameleons a lot more

i live in the uk and i dont even know where to get panthers, apart from 'local breeders' but even they aren't that local lol, kev do you know any uk sites you can order them off, delivered to your door??

No your better buying of breeders and arranging a corrier or pick up you self, what cham are you after an if panther what local I may no somebody

Marketing!!!! Announce your animals in every media possible, beat the competition by lowering the price , like some else said offer freebies, crickets, gutload etc. What its not seen or advertise can not be bought.

You wouldn't believe the amount of advitesing that gets done and there is no competition as there the only panthers of that particular local in the country atm but its the same for most of the breeders of quality chameleons in the country, it just made me think that other country's seem to have a better understanding of the species in general

How bout having an educational show n tell at several grade schools(k-6th grade).....that way you could peak the younger generations interest. They'll go home all excited and possibly get older siblings/parents interested and that could generate sales......
Also, dont know if you have like a farmers market on weekends....that would be a great way to reach alot of people.

Send one or two to the Queen......NOW THAT WOULD BE AWESOMENESS!!!

I like the education idea. At least for me, growing up my parents nurtured my curiosity of animals. Of course to their demise, every different type of animal I learned about I wanted. I think it's kids that drive their parents to buy so many pets. The only problem I could see with chameleons, is that they aren't the easiest animal to take care of. So for kids it might be a bit much.
